Cove Bits
Cove router bits use a concave cutting edge to carve a smooth, inward curved profile that resembles a scoop along the edge of the material. They are top bearing router bits, with the bearing guiding the cut consistently along the edge. Common applications include edge profiling, molding creation, and decorative joint work. The radius of the bit determines the size of the cove produced. For deeper profiles, multiple passes are strongly recommended, and the finished surface should be sanded to achieve a smooth final result.
