Router Bit Terminology
Understand the dimensions and terminology on your router bits.

CED or CD - is the Diameter of the cutting surface of your router bit.
CEL or CL - Is the cutting length of the router bit. How far up the bit can be used to cut.
SH or Shank - Is the Diameter of the bit at the base that will be held by the collet or machine. This diameter should match the diameter of the collet being used.
OAL - Is the Overall Length of the tool. From the base of the shank to the tip of the cutting length.
