Router Bit Treminology

CED  or CD - is the Diameter of the cutting surface of your router bit.

CEL or CL - Is the cutting length of the router bit. How far up the bit can be used to cut.

SH or Shank​ - Is the Diameter of the bit at the base that will be held by the collet or machine. This diameter should match the diameter of the collet being used. 

OAL - Is the Overall Length of the tool. From the base of the shank to the tip of the cutting length.

Understand the Feed rate and Spindle Speed that is optimal for your bit based on the material you are cutting.
