Pre mill units on the Akron 1400 feature PCD diamond cutting surfaces that joint the panel edge before banding is applied, delivering excellent surface quality and significantly extended tool life compared to standard carbide. Replacement PCD inserts are available separately to maintain peak pre mill performance without replacing the full cutterhead.
